MAGD stands for Master of the Academy of General Dentistry. Less than 2 percent of general dentists in the U.S. and Canada are AGD Masters. Earning a Mastership takes dedication to continuing education courses, and becoming an AGD Master means a dentist has taken part in some of the most rigorous continuing dental education programs today. Dentists are often the first line of defense against many serious conditions that start in the mouth. When you see a dentist with MAGD after their name, you can rest assured they know about the most up-to-date technologies and procedures and care for your whole-body well-being. These AGD Masters make a commitment to care that goes above and beyond—they are pulling for all of your oral health needs.
TO BECOME AN AGD MASTER, A DENTIST MUST:
In AGD’s 69 year history, 17,684 members have earned Fellowship, while 3,652 have received Mastership. During the AGD2021 Convocation Ceremony, 281 members received Fellowship and 53 received Mastership. This annual ceremony is the profession’s most prestigious event.
The Fellows and Masters represent a commitment to lifelong learning and support for AGD’s mission “to serve the needs and represent the interests of general dentists and to foster their continued proficiency through quality continuing dental education in order to better serve the public.”
