Instead of taking messy impressions with putty-like materials, we use a digital scanner to create a precise 3D image of your tooth and the surrounding area.
This digital impression is then used to create your custom crown using specialized software. The process typically takes just a few minutes, during which we can adjust the crown’s shape, size, and bite to ensure a perfect fit. Once the design is complete, our in-office milling machine cuts your crown from a solid block of high-quality ceramic material.
The entire process, from scanning to placing your finished crown, usually takes between 90 minutes and two hours. You can relax in our comfortable office during this time, knowing that your restoration is being crafted with precision and care.

After preparing your tooth by removing damaged or decayed portions, we’ll use our digital scanner to capture detailed images. This process is much more comfortable than traditional impressions and provides superior accuracy. You’ll be able to see the 3D images of your tooth on our computer screen, and we’ll explain each step of the process.
While your crown is being designed and milled, you can relax in our office or step out briefly if you prefer. We’ll let you know exactly how long the process will take. Once your crown is ready, we’ll check the fit and make any necessary adjustments before permanently cementing it in place.
Before you leave, we’ll provide detailed instructions for caring for your new crown and schedule any necessary follow-up appointments. Most patients can return to normal activities immediately, though we may recommend avoiding hard foods for the first day.
