Did you know you can suffer from dental issues this Easter? Well, it’s true. Unfortunately, there are many Easter-related things that can damage your smile. This is why our dentist, Dr. Donald Roman, encourages you to keep your teeth and gums in mind and do all you can to prevent dental issues. To help you do so, he has some helpful tips to share. Those tips are to:
-Limit your candy consumption: This can help you prevent tooth decay because candy contains high amounts of sugar, and sugar promotes cavities. Now, this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t eat any of the treats you get, but it does mean to eat them in moderation.
-Wear a mouthguard: If you’re going to participate in one of those vicious Easter egg hunts (we all know Easter egg hunts can be more intense than intended, especially if there’s money involved), then it’s best to wear a mouthguard while searching for your eggs. This can help you avoid oral injuries while you get shoved into trees and get hit in the face with elbows.
-Clean your smile: Removing bacteria and other harmful substances from the smile can help you avoid cavities, gum disease and other dental issues. So, make sure to brush twice a day, floss once a day and rinse daily. If you eat or drink something acidic, it’s best to wait 30 minutes to brush.
If you do these things, you can prevent dental issues this Easter.
