Dr. Donald Roman founded Roman Dental Arts with a vision of treating every patient with the respect and attention they deserve. With more than 38 years of private practice experience in Bergen County, he has dedicated his career to providing beautiful smiles and comprehensive care to the community he calls home.
Dr. Donald has been recognized as one of the “Top Dentists in America” for over 11 years and received the 2011 Top Dentist Award for the New York Area. These honors reflect his commitment to clinical excellence and patient satisfaction.
Education and Background
Dr. Donald received his dental degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University, School of Dental Medicine, graduating with his DMD in 1983. Following dental school, he served as a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Public Health Service, acting as Director of Dentistry at the Camden County Family Dental Center until 1985. His commitment to continuing education has shaped his extensive training in implant dentistry, laser procedures, and advanced restorative techniques.

Dr. Alissa M. Roman, DDS
Dr. Alissa Roman brings fresh perspective and compassionate care to Roman Dental Arts while honoring the practice’s longstanding tradition of patient-centered dentistry. Her face may be familiar to longtime patients, as she spent much of her childhood at the practice while her parents provided dental care to the community.
Education and Background
Dr. Alissa graduated from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine after completing her undergraduate education at Fordham University with a dual major in Biology and Anthropology. She also holds a Master’s degree in Biology from Montclair State University in New Jersey. This strong educational foundation prepared her for a career dedicated to both clinical excellence and understanding the human aspects of dental care.
During her training, Dr. Alissa provided outreach dental care to underserved populations in the Allegheny Mountain region of the United States and through the Indian Health Service. These experiences deepened her understanding of compassionate care and reinforced her commitment to making quality dentistry accessible.

Dr. Alissa embodies our practice’s philosophy of putting patients first. Growing up in the practice, she learned the value of providing compassionate care by watching her parents treat each patient as an individual with unique needs and concerns.
